April Ipsy Bag – & my first!

After all the confusion, I finally got my Ipsy bag in the mail!

Okay guys, I know I have not been posting as frequently as I normally do BUT I have something very exciting coming up that I am going to start doing and I cannot wait to share it with you guys! Coming the middle of May. You don’t want to miss it! Finals are coming up too so it’s about to get hectic until mid-May.

I am SO excited for this Ipsy bag! As mentioned in the title of this post, this is my first Ipsy bag AND my first subscription beauty bag! Where have they been all my life?!

For those of you who don’t know, Ipsy is a beauty bag monthly subscription costing only $10 for 4-5 products in each bag – you get a bag every time! I found Ipsy via Instagram. They randomly popped up on my feed and I was like, “Only $10 for beauty products?! Sign me up!” So I then searched for even more like this and decided I would try Julep and I just decided recently I would try Boxycharm coming May.

Let’s dig in!

When I opened my pink bubbly wrapped packaging, I first, of course, took out my bag, then realized outside of the bag was a brush and a sheet for the April theme! Could’ve been easy for me to forget to look outside the bag 😮

So what I got was:

A Starlooks Luxe Longwear Eye Pencil in the color Jet. I don’t normally use or buy actual eyeliner, I just use a wet angle brush and eye shadow so I am really excited to try this! It doesn’t actually feel like a pencil and seems like it would apply very well (from swatching) It’s a nice dark color but looks like I will have to be extra careful when applying! This is not actually a full-size when you look on their website but the full size is valued at $19.IMG_2064

Crown Brush C427 Duo Fiber Blush Brush. I have actually been needing a blush brush so I am so excited to have received this! It is very soft and I am really excited to start using it. I really love that Ipsy includes brushes in their bags. Guys, be sure to look back on Ipsy’s website to get tips on the best ways to use your products you receive because I just got a really good tip: use one side of the brush to blush, use the other side to highlight. The C427 Brush is valued at $9.49.

Next lets talk about this bag… It’s cute, but not the kind of cute that I want to use it a whole lot. I love that it’s tie-dye and the colors are cute but I’m not too much of an orange person. Very summery though!

The Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Gel-to-Oil Overnight Repair Treatment. Okay honestly, when I first saw that I was supposed to get this on the website I thought it was an overnight face mask, but I am actually really pleasantly surprised! It’s a repair overnight for your hair! I’m super excited to try this but I probably won’t try it until I get home in the middle of May because I will have to protect my pillow with a towel and I don’t want to mess with my dorm with the time I have left. This is a super small bottle but super cute. I think I might get a total of 2 uses out of it. Enough for me to test if I like it or not! Their full-size is valued at $28.

Jelly Pong Pong Neapolitan Palette. This palette caused me to get out of my comfort zone. That left color is pretty orangey. But it really doesn’t look that bad. I really like that it sparkles. The other two colors I love! I put it on with another few colors but you can tell how well it works. The full-size palette is valued at $17.95.FullSizeRenderExcuse my eyebrows – I know they need to be done. But what I did hear was apply the left orangey-yellowy color all over my lid (after primer), then mixed that brown with another dark color I have for the outer crease and most of the rest of my lid. Then, you can probably tell, I used the pink for the inner crease/triangle. I love these colors together!

Tarte LipSurgence Lip Creme in Wonder. OMG I LOVE THIS STUFF. It smells like mint (which some of you may not like) but it moisturizes so well! It is so creamy (in a good way) and the color is perfect!! Guys, I’m obsessed. Gonna wear this all the time. Tarte is just a really good product line. The full size is valued at $24. Might have to buy the full size when I run out of this one. Good thing Ipsy has a 20% off code for Tarte for the month of April!

Remember: check Ipsy for discounts on all these brands and more. Check Ipsy’s website for tips on how to best use your products.

Let me know in the comments what you got in your Ipsy bag, if we got similar things, what beauty subscriptions you like best or don’t like, etc. I would love to hear!

Have a fantastic week, y’all 🙂

xx, Claire
