Reflecting on the Little Things – NYE

Happy NYE everyone! 🎉✨

Do y’all have super fun plans tonight?! I love New Years so much because it gives me a reason to wear sparkly and sequiny things. Seriously so much fun! I love all the glam things. I’m ringing in the new year in Fayetteville for the first time ever and I am so excited! I’m so blessed to live here.

When I started to think about what I could write for this post.. I kept in mind that I’ve already written a special 2017 post (read it here) about reflecting on 2017 and casting vision for 2018. I am just so thankful and so blessed for what God has given me already and I know He has greater plans for me in 2018. I love the thought of NEW things. That we can start FRESH in a NEW year. I love that I serve a God of NEW things. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has COME: the old is gone, the NEW is HERE!”

I decided that I would write a prayer here for the coming year. I know I’ve already dedicated a post to 2017, but I want to pray with you, yes you, and over you for this next year. (No worries, I am still going to talk about this past week & puppies & the best lipstick ever and songs of 2017) I’m believing He is saying to you “The old is GONE – behold, the NEW has COME!” All the mistakes, all the disappointments, they are BEHIND us. What’s behind us cannot touch us any longer. Wow, I am so happy to leave 2017 in the PAST.

Lord, do a new thing in me! Thank you for creating me NEW. Thank you that you are a God of NEW THINGS. Lord forgive me for the things of 2017, things of old. Thank you God for your GRACE that covers everything in 2017. You show Mercy over Judgment. You are slow to anger and quick to encourage. When you see me, you are proud. Thank you for pulling through in 2017 when I needed you to. God REMIND me of your goodness when everything seems lost! Thank you for being my unshakable foundation. I may have bent in 2017 but I didn’t break! I called, You answered! When things of 2017 (of the past) come up, tell the devil, no, not today! Tell him the NEW has come and the old is GONE!

Lord I pray you delight over every word that I say in 2018. That you show favor in what seems like ruin. That you make the impossible possible. I declare in Jesus’ name you will do more than I dream of or ask of in 2018! You will bring me more than my dreams. God I pray more than anything, though, that you use me. Use me in the city of Fayetteville. Use me to bring people closer to you. May Fayetteville be known as a city who LOVES and SERVES you! Give me more influence, more connections, more grace for people, more humility, and remind me to rest. Not rest as in do nothing or rest as in take a break. But rest as in rest in Your hands, knowing you are holding me and carrying me through 2018. If I would just be still, I would realize that You’ve got me and everything’s okay. Thank you Lord that I will look back on days of 2017 and say “Wow, God has brought me so far. Who even was I back then?” You are a God of restoration.

Amen. Pray that over yourself for this new year. I want to enter the new year, prayerfully and expectingly! I’m believing that my best self yet is in 2018! For you, too.

This week:

I got to see my family finally!! Woohoo! I miss them so much already. I love my family so much and I am so blessed to have stayed up until 1am and slept in till 12pm omg. I don’t normally get to sleep in.

OH my goodness they are precious. I am obsessed with them. Their names are Jax and Finn.

I also learned a new game with my sisters. You might know it! Catan. It was so much fun! Me and my family love playing board games and card games.

Okay, this week I went and bought another shade of the Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink since they came out with more neutral shades! I first received it with Influenster and LOVED the formula so much that I bought another shade and this week I purchased my third shade! Wow! I love it so much because it smells nice, isn’t dehydrating, and the color literally lasts ALL DAY. Even through eating, I don’t have to reapply! It’s incredible.

Well Happy New Year everyone! I hope that you succeed with your resolutions and have a fun and safe night tonight!!

xx, Claire
